Come create alternative controllers with textiles and electronics!
This workshop taught the basics of how to use electronic textiles (soft conductive and resistive materials) in combination with Arduino to create bespoke alternative controllers. We introduced a number of materials and showed how they can be used to create game buttons and alternative game interactions.
For this workshop, there was no prerequisite knowledge of electronics, textiles or Arduino.
This workshop was a sampler of learning the differences between analog and digital inputs. Participants were encouraged to craft their own digital switch and test it on a keyboard-based game. This initial workshop introduced materials such as conductive fabric and velostat as a foundation for later workshops in the series.
